Yesterday...Monday, Apr. 27th - Although restrained, Larry (fiesty and determined guy that he is) somehow pulled out his feeding tube again today. The rascal! It was replaced in the early afternoon. Otherwise, things seemed stable and encouraging.
Tuesday, April 28th - Just a small bump in the road last night and today. I could tell last evening that Larry wasn´t feeling very good. I talked with the nurse about a few changes I´d noticed in him. About 2:00 in the morning his fever quickly spiked high and his blood pressure dropped. He also had to be put back on an oxygen mask because he wasn´t maintaining his oxygen level. Luckily, with a cat scan, they found that his brain was doing well and not the cause. Looks like he has a urinary tract infection...much simpler to deal with, thank goodness. He was again put on a mega antibiotic which seems to have started to work. He was pretty wiped out this morning but much more alert and coherent my mid afternoon and hopefully will continue to improve quickly.
Today is Larry´s NOT SO GREAT anniversary...5 weeks in the ICU unit!!
We´re done celebrating (ha) ...we´re ready to be O-U-T!!
