Sunday, June 7th

Sunday, June 7th- I´m going to quit apologizing for not writing and just give an update!!! I´m bad!
As I mentioned last time, early last week Larry had been coughing a lot more and we could tell something was wrong. They found that he did have pneumonia and he was moved to the 9th floor of the hospital for some closer monitoring and care. He was pretty sick for a few days but the antibiotics have kicked in and he is improving now. Rather than trying to detail the past week, I´ll just give you some basics:
*his oxygen level has been increased once again (pretty normal with pneumonia).
*he was receiving three antibiotics, but he broke out in a rash so they discontinued one of them.
*his blood sugar has remained stable except yesterday when it dropped to 45 and he required a
dextrose shot into his IV to bring it back up. (Just once in a week is pretty good!)
*he continues to have his feeding tube because he is still aspirating into his lungs.
*he´s been a lot weaker so hasn´t been able to get up much to move around. (Again, normal)
*he continues to be very confused (who wouldn´t be at this point! I can´t even keep it all straight in
  my mind either!!)
The goal is to be able to get him moved back up to rehab in the next few days and then hopefully he can regain the strength he has lost this past week and work hard again in rehab to move toward a better recovery.

Happy side note: I was so excited and pleased to be able to attend Brady`s (our oldest grandson) high school graduation this past week and well as another grandson, Brigham´s baptism. Both were great! I´m so proud of them. Thank heaven for normal life!! It sure felt good.
